Gary Coffey is a Principal with Control Risks’ Crisis and Resilience Consulting team in Washington, D.C., where he leads pre-incident planning and training for extortive crimes, including kidnap-for-ransom and travel security. He also supports threat assessment, crisis management, and physical security programs. A retired FBI Special Agent with 32+ years of experience, Gary led the Joint Terrorism Task Force in New England and specialized in domestic terrorism. He is a certified FBI hostage negotiator with global experience and has trained at both the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia and with the Metropolitan Police in London, England.
